Special Request: If you feel this Dissociation Blog Showcase is of value, whether your blog is included here or not, please add it to your Blogroll. Thanks!

This is an alphabetized list in progress of blogs written by people who experience dissociation. We are rich with amazingly open and courageous writers amongst us. I’m providing a showcase for them. I’m starting with mostly just hot links now, but will make it a weekly project to highlight at least one of these sites with annotations.

IMPORTANT: Please keep your own safety in mind when reading any of these blogs. Not all contain trigger warnings, and material may be graphic or triggering.

  • My first round of reviewing blogs includes those which explicitly discuss dissociation, a dissociative diagnosis, or therapy process dealing with dissociation. When unsure, I erred on the side of not including it here. I also excluded any blogs which require a password.

If your blog is not included here, and you want it to be, please email me at sarah.e.olson AT gmail DOT com. Likewise, if your blog is included here, and you wish to opt out of participating in this showcase, that is your absolute right. Send me an email to let me know your preference.

Help me keep these links up to date; write to me if any links break or if you find typos. Thanks!

    14. Amy Sprague Says:

      (poem)
      Dissociation

It sounds like a circus back there,
behind me where I can’t go, trapped
      in my mute carnival
      and I’m suddenly alone,
before the shadow of a carousel
that picks up speed behind me
and into its still shadow I look
      to see what spins

      rounds the will
      rounds a white shock
      rounds the will
      rounds a creeping terror
      that detaches and divides me–
      I wait for the will
      to come round again
and in the shadow on the concrete
      a crowd enters in–
      people like paper cut-outs
      with painted faces,
      their souls are balloons
      in their hands
      that I look through
      and imagine nothing
in the thin transparency and emptiness.

      Will never rounds
I have to wait for the ride to end.

      1. Sarah Olson Says:

    18. […] Third of a Lifetime’s Dissociation Blog Showcase […]

    19. Mirjam Says:

Hi I’m a new subscriber – thanks so much for this invaluable source! I am wondering if there’s a way to change the name I gave when I first subscribed? If so could you please let me know how I can do this? Thanks again.

      1. Sarah Olson Says:

Hi, thanks for your kind words!

You subscribed through WordPress, (since I don’t have any other subscription service on currently). WordPress uses your WordPress account name that you log into WordPress to subscribe you. If you go to Users to Profile, it gives your account name and a few lines down “Display name publicly as”. You can use any name there, but it will apply to all of your subscriptions, not just here.

        Hope this helps!

        Take care,

        Sarah

    20. Mirjam Says:

Hi Sarah, thanks for that. I’m sorry I’m not that clued up with computers, and can’t remember how I even signed up to begin with. Where can I find this ‘Users’ and ‘profile?’ I tried to look up Word Press online but couldn’t find either users or profile options anywhere. Sorry to hassle you over such a small thing! Appreciate your time…

      1. Sarah Olson Says:

        Hi Mirjam,

I’m so sorry I didn’t see this before. In your WordPress account, across the top in a horizontal gray bar at the far left find “My Account”. From the drop down menu click “Edit my profile”. You can change your public name in the box for “display name publicly as”. Note: You cannot change the account username you signed up with.

Sorry again for the delay! I hope this helps.

        Take care,

        Sarah

    21. Jaliya Says:

Sarah, I’ve just come upon this wonderful list … and saw my own blog’s name on it! Thank you so much … I will explore your site … There are many riches here!

      Jaliya

    22. Just Be Real Says:

Wow! Thank you for taking the time to post all these links. I will take my time and go through. Appreciate this. Blessings.

    23. Thank you Sarah for adding my blog to your showcase. I am in some pretty amazing company here! Keep up the good work!

    24. Sarah, thank you for gathering these sites together all in one place. Many will be helped by these sites and yours.

    25. identity4 Says:

Thank you for including me… this is greatness!!!!!! 🙂

    26. Elle Says:

      Hi Sarah,

Thank you for adding my blog to your list. I would be happy to add you to my blogroll.

      Cheers,
      Elle
